Autologous Augmentation
Breast Augmentation with Patient's Own Tissue
When possible, skin and fat from under the arm, next to the breast, can be used in the new breast reconstruction process. The blood supply to this tissue is either from perforators through the muscle between the ribs, armpit, or lattissimus dorsi muscle (ICAP, TDAP). The living tissue is then turned over and secured under the breast.
