Inferior Gluteal Artery Perforator Flap in New York

The Inferior Gluteal Artery Perforator Flap (IGAP Flap) is similar to the SGAP Flap procedure in that it uses the buttocks as the donor area. However, the IGAP Flap procedure uses the posterior area to rebuild the breast.

This type of reconstruction procedure leaves a camouflaged scar, while improving the shape of the buttocks. During this procedure the skin is harvested using a microsurgical, muscle-sparing technique. There is usually adequate volume to make an appropriate sized breast, while concealing the scar within the inferior buttock crease.

Our physicians, Dr. Goldstein and Dr. Erhard, have extensive training and years of experience in the latest breast reconstruction procedures ever developed. Additionally, our state-of-the-art center and our professional staff encompass our services to ensure you get only the best and highest quality care.
